Former International Cyber Crime Fighter Joins Netwatch

The Surveillance Group (TSG) and Netwatch Global bring Tristan Prince on board as Group Chief Commercial Officer.

[Birmingham, West Midlands, February 2018] This week TSG and Netwatch have announced industry veteran Tristan Prince will be joining the expanding group as Chief Commercial Officer. Prince leaves behind a considerable career at iovation where he headed their EMEA business delivering device based on-line fraud prevention and authentication strategies for many leading international organisations.

Tim Young, CEO of the Group comments: “Tristan joins us at a time of rapid service and aligned software development by the Group and we are extremely confident that he will help us to maximise opportunities both in the UK and oversees as our innovative solutions are embraced by an ever increasing number of financial institutions, global brands and government entities.”

Prince brings over 10 years of expertise within fraud and risk consultancy, data product development and technology delivery. During his considerable career Prince has worked for well-respected organisations such as Royal Mail’s data services, Transactis, Halford’s business services, 3M and most recently iovation. Prince has been directly responsible for the creation of fraud prevention data assets and for spearheading a number of industry-wide risk data sharing initiatives across the retail, e-commerce and insurance industry.

In joining TSG as Chief Commercial Officer, Prince will be tasked with driving the business into new markets and channels. He has a proven background of working closely with international clients to develop and deliver detailed fraud and risk prevention strategies.

The Netwatch solution, launched by TSG in 2013, helps retailers, insurers and other businesses to investigate and reduce the cost associated with false claims, counterfeit goods, internal fraud and organised crime. It compliantly leverages online public and social media data sources along with other elements of cyber intelligence and geotagging to quickly build profiles and intelligence on criminals and opportunistic fraudsters. With GDPR looming never has it been more important for businesses to access this data in a compliant manner; Netwatch takes all the headaches out of this providing detailed intelligence that has been proven to be used successfully in high profile prosecutions.

David Purcell, Chief Operating Officer at Netwatch comments: “I’m excited to start working with Tristan – his approach throughout the hiring process made his appointment an easy decision, and his industry track record speaks for itself. Tristan joins our team at an exciting time as we refresh the Netwatch service offering with some exciting new products, which our current clients are now starting to benefit from.”

As Product Manager at Royal Mail Group, Prince was responsible for the development of market -led data propositions in ID Validation and Fraud Prevention in addition to designing and building new data products to fuel Royal Mail’s commercial strategy. The NCOA Alert product he was instrumental in creating was highly commended in the Security category of the World Mail awards and was the major catalyst behind the top level investment in RMG’s ID Validation product stream. Whilst at RMG, Transactis and iovation, Prince also became an accomplished speaker on the fraud circuit.

Prince comments: “I am pleased to be joining TSG and Netwatch at such an exciting and pivotal time. With the UK economy experiencing an estimated £21 billion in Public Sector fraud according to the National Fraud Authority and the Annual Fraud Indicator suggesting that private sector fraud could cost the UK economy just over £140 billion in 2018, it is clear that existing solutions are some way off fully addressing the issue. The solutions offered by TSG and Netwatch are already helping government departments, retailers, insurers and many other businesses to plug some of these gaps by providing the next generation of investigative services, technology and operations.

I am excited to be part of these innovative and transformational businesses as they continue to drive best practice and significant return on investment for their clients.”
